Getting the concrete there is half the job
Concrete has a clock on it from the moment water hits cement. Most specifications want it discharged inside ninety minutes of batching, and on a hot day the practical window is tighter than that. Which means delivery is not logistics, it is part of the pour.
The failure modes are all timing. Trucks arriving in a bunch and sitting in a queue while the mix ages. Trucks arriving too far apart and the crew standing over a slab that is setting in sections. A short load at the end because the yardage was estimated off a drawing rather than measured off the ground.

Working out the yardage
Volume is length times width times thickness, converted to cubic yards, and then adjusted for everything the arithmetic does not know about. Thickened edges. A subgrade that is not as flat as the drawing. Spillage and waste, which is real and normally runs a few percent.
Ordering short is worse than ordering long, because a short load means a second truck, a delay, and a joint through the middle of a slab that was supposed to be continuous. Ordering slightly long means some concrete goes in a form somewhere or gets washed out. Everyone in the trade builds in the margin for that reason.
One review describes a fifty yard plus house foundation. That is a real pour with real coordination behind it, not a couple of trucks.
Slump, mix and what to specify
A pump needs a mix it can move. Too stiff and the line plugs, too wet and you have lost strength to get pumpability, which is the wrong trade. The right answer is normally a properly designed pumpable mix with the water content controlled and workability from the mix design, not from a hose at the back of the truck.
Aggregate size matters too, because the largest stone in the mix has to pass the line comfortably. So does the mix strength, which is set by what the concrete is doing rather than by preference, and by whatever the inspector is going to want to see on a footing or a frontage pour.
Tell us what the job is and the order gets placed for that job. Guessing at a mix over the phone is how a load turns up that the pump cannot use.
